Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Knowing what to expect before the technician arrives takes most of the worry out of a roof nest, from the phone call to the first quiet day afterwards.
If anyone at home reacts badly to stings, removing a nest yourself is a risk that is hard to justify. Here is how to protect the household instead.
The easiest way to locate a hidden nest is to watch where the wasps go, and with patience you can do it from a distance without going near the plant.
The better your description of where wasps are going, the faster a technician can plan the job, so a few minutes of careful notes before calling pay off.
If a nest has already grown large over the summer, you have not missed your chance, but it helps to know what has changed and how to stay safe until the visit.
