Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Wasps do not need a large hole to get under your tiles, and a slipped or cracked tile is often all it takes. Here is what to check and what to leave alone.
Garages and brick outbuildings are less obvious than wooden sheds, but a nest in the roof space or a wall cavity needs the same careful, professional treatment.
Watching how wasps travel to and from a hedge can pinpoint a hidden nest without going near it, and gives the technician useful detail before they arrive.
A fascia board that has gaped, softened or lifted from the rafter ends gives a queen wasp a ready-made cavity, and the nest then grows out of view behind it.
Nests tend to spread through gaps and cavities as they grow, so a nest that was easy to reach in early summer can become awkward later on.
