Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
If wasps keep turning up in an upstairs room, especially around the ceiling light, a nest in the loft above is the most likely source and should be treated by a professional.
August is the height of the wasp year, when a mature nest can hold thousands of wasps; understanding why helps you stay safe and act sensibly.
Grey paper scraps, fresh wood shavings and brown staining are the physical traces a nest leaves behind, and they can show you where to look before you see any wasps.
For an agent juggling several tenancies, wasp nests are best handled with a single contact, a fixed price and a clear note of each address, rather than ad hoc phone calls.
