Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
A live nest shows itself through repeated, purposeful flight to one spot, so a few minutes of careful watching from a distance will usually tell you what you need to know.
The visit is only part of the job; this guide covers what a landlord and tenant should do afterwards, from watching the spot to filling the record.
When you run the business yourself, you cannot afford a lost day or a stung customer, and the safest answer is usually a booked treatment, not a do-it-yourself fix.
A wasp nest hidden in a privet or garden hedge is easy to disturb with an electric trimmer, so the safest move is to stop cutting and have it treated first.
Many attempts to deal with a roofline nest make things worse, so it is worth knowing which popular tricks to avoid and what a safer approach looks like.
